In 2019, Chile reached a digital readiness index of 14.86 out of 25, the highest score among countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. The South American country is thus in the middle or "accelerate" stage of digital readiness. According to the source, this stage represents countries that had already taken the first steps towards digital readiness but that still had opportunities to accelerate or improve it.
The digital readiness index was analyzed using multiple components, from fulfilling an inhabitant’s basic needs and improving their education to achieving a good business and start-up environment and investing in progressive technology infrastructure.
