According to a survey on the energy industry in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2019, 60 percent of respondents were completely confident or very confident that the country will achieve an equal ratio between fossil based and renewable energy sources. The UAE Energy Strategy 2050 was launched as a proactive approach to diversify the energy sources of the country and support clean energy production.

The energy leaders surveyed include: Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Masdar, Dolphin Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Emirates National Oil Company, Ministry of Energy and Industry, Mubadala Investments.
Survey question was as follows: "How confident do you feel about the UAE achieving a 50:50 ratio between fossil based and renewable energy sources?"

The response choices were "completely confident", "very confident", "somewhat confident", and "not very confident".
