With the ban of social gatherings implemented by French authorities during lockdown, about a third of the population connected with their friends and families through "virtual aperitifs," as a way to preserve their social ties. The participation rate varies from one occupational field to another: more than half of people working in liberal professions and senior management positions took part in these virtual events, whereas about a quarter of workers did so.
The participation rate also changes according to the age of the respondents.
