In 2021, around 31.8 percent of employees working in the alcoholic beverages industry in Brazil were located in the state of São Paulo, in the southeast region of the country. Considering also employees in Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais, the three states with the largest population in the country were home to over 51 percent of people working in the industry. In that year, Rio Grande do Sul ranked second in employment, despite being the state with the highest share of alcoholic drinks companies.
