In 2021, nearly 21 percent of companies in the alcoholic beverages industry in Brazil were established in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, located in the southern region of the country. Considering also companies in Santa Catarina and Paraná, the southern region was the chosen location for over 39 percent of companies within the industry. Meanwhile, Minas Gerais and São Paulo combined accounted for another third of companies. In that year, São Paulo was the state with the highest share of employees working in the alcoholic beverages market.
