From 2009 to 2019, the number of counterfeited CDs, DVDs, and tapes seized in Italy decreased overall. In 2012, the number of seized audio physical copies peaked at 9.3 million. As of 2019, the Italian authorities reported a total of roughly 35.5 thousand counterfeited copies.
