Number of hotels in Russia 2022, by star rating

In 2022, the majority of hotels operating in Russia were not star-rated. Nearly 3.2 thousand of establishments were three-star hotels. Five-star hotels, categorized as luxury ones, amounted to 232 establishments. In February 2019, Russia launched a new mandatory hotel classification system, according to which, all hotels with more than 50 rooms must be evaluated with on a star basis.
