The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic impacted strongly the tourism sector in Kenya. Most of tourism businesses in the country (64.5 percent) reported having over 90 percent of bookings cancelled within a period of four months from the first time the outbreak was reported in China in December 2019. Only 1.6 percent of respondents indicated zero cancellation of bookings in their businesses.
