In the first quarter of 2020, fuel sales of Petrobras Distribuidora S.A., commercially known as BR Distribuidora, decreased across every segment, when compared to the same quarter of 2019. Aviation sales showed the highest decline, at almost 13 percent. When compared to the previous quarter, fuel sales in gas stations and aviation decreased by 13 and 8.3 percent, respectively, a result of reduced traffic due to lockdown measures implemented in an attempt to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. In contrast, the company's fuel sales in the B2B segment increased by 2.3 percent in the period, when compared to the last quarter of 2019.
BR Distribuidora is a former subsidiary of national oil corporation Petrobras, operating in the fuel distribution segment in Brazil.
