Share of auction sales of Indian artists 2020, by country
The majority of artwork by Indian artists were sold in Indian based auction houses, followed by the United States. Artwork sold at auction houses in India only contributed to over 37 percent of total artworks sold by Indian artists in 2020. Anish Kapoor was the leading Indian artist in 2020 with over 206 million Indian rupees, in terms of turnover.
