According to a survey conducted in 2023, around 14.5 percent of newly married respondents in Japan spent four million to 4.5 million Japanese yen on wedding ceremonies and receptions or parties, which was the most common amount of spending. Approximately 1.6 percent spent more than seven million yen on a wedding. In Japan, it is common to hold a reception or a party (or both) on the same day as a wedding ceremony.
