Share of people who feel insecure when using the internet Japan 2023, by age group

According to a survey conducted in Japan in August 2023, more than 82 percent of respondents in their sixties feel insecure when using the internet. Although the majority of respondents across almost all age groups shared this experience, the share was considerably smaller among younger generations. In total, more than 69 percent of respondents felt insecure when using the internet. The same survey also showed that the leading reason for people to feel this way was a possible leak of their personal information or internet usage history.
