As of July 2019, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in India allocated eleven Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to the pharmaceutical sector out of a total of 232. Of these, the largest SEZ in terms of size in acres was Ramky Pharma City Private Limited located in the state of Andhra Pradesh. By contrast, the smallest SEZ was Serum Bio-pharma Park located in the state of Maharashtra with 55 acres.
