South Africa: processed sunflower seeds 2000-2021

In 2020/2021, processed sunflower seeds amounted to 721.8 thousand metric tons, of which oil and oilcake added up to 710 thousand, representing roughly 98.4 percent. Seed, feed and human consumption accounted for the remaining 1.6 percent with 8.5 thousand and 3.25 thousand, respectively. The lowest volume of processed sunflower seeds can be observed in 2007/2008, with a total of 371.4 thousand. The highest quantity was registered in 2018/2019 at roughly 905.9 thousand metric tons.
