In March 2020, nearly 40.8 percent of social media users surveyed in Mexico claimed to have received the largest amount of false information regarding COVID-19 via WhatsApp, while 40.5 percent of respondents said Facebook was the platform through which they got the biggest number of fake news on the matter.
