As per the results of a July 2020 survey conducted to understand the extent of the issues faced by consumers in India, a majority of respondents said that they have had one or more inherently defective products in the last three years. Among those who purchased a defective product, nearly 27 percent had raised the issue with the service provider and had it fixed. The service areas where a large number of consumers faced issues regularly were billing for mobile telephone services and DTH services among others.
