In the academic year of 2022/2023, there were close to 563 thousand students enrolled in universities in Kenya. The number increased from roughly 562.1 thousand in 2021/22. The gender distribution showed that there were more students who were men enrolled in tertiary education, approximately 323 thousand, while females were 240 thousand.
