According to the survey among Chinese college students conducted between November 2019 and February 2020, more than 87 percent of male respondents said that they were satisfied with their current relationship. In comparison, only 81 percent females were satisfied with their relationship.

Respondents were from 1,764 higher education institutions across 34 provinces in China, including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
68.07 percent respondents were from universities offering Bachelor’s degrees, and 31.93 percent from higher vocational education institutes.
59.67 percent at their first year, 22.59 percent at their second year, 11.11 percent at their third year and 6.54 percent at their fourth year.
34.2 percent were biologically male and 65.8 percent were biologically female.
