The representation of the brand's values was the most important consideration when choosing an influencer for the marketing strategy of tourism companies in Latin America in 2019, according to a survey carried out by Axon. That year, six out of ten travel and tourism organizations surveyed reported that to be a very important factor for a social media strategy. The number of interactions of the influencer's account or their number of followers were an important factor for more than one third of respondents.

* Survey was conducted among attendees to the international ANATO fair in Bogota, Colombia. The sample of the survey include 100 users of tourism services and 50 tourism service providers such as destination promotion agencies, travel agencies, hotels, and airlines.
The term social media influencers encompasses youtubers, instagrammers, snapchatters, bloggers, twitters, and similar.
