In February 2020, the global leading home-sharing platform Airbnb recorded 328.8 thousand monthly active app users in China, representing a year-on-year loss of more than 50 percent compared to February 2019. Its local competitor Tujia.com also reported a user loss from 755 thousand to 407.1 thousand in the same period. The outbreak of coronavirus at the beginning of 2020 led to a setback in China's hospitality industry.
