Distribution of pet food purchases in Italy 2020, by gender
A survey conducted in July 2020 investigated pet food purchasing patterns in Italy. When looking at consumers' gender differences, women seemed to be purchasing pet food more than men. In particular, 40 percent of female respondents would purchase dog food compared to 32 percent of males and 39 percent of females would purchase cat food compared to 31 percent of males. Moreover, as much as 43 percent of male respondents would not purchase any pet food.
