Monthly food index in Russia 2019-2020
A generally growing food expenditure share in the total expenditure of Russian households peaked in April 2020, which largely stemmed from the panic buying during the COVID-19 self-isolation period in the country. In July 2020, the food index was more than two percent higher relative to the equivalent period of the previous year.
