Households with a bank account in Tanzania 2017-2018, by region
Between 2017 and 2018, at least one person operated a bank account in 12.3 percent of households in Tanzania. The percentage was higher in urban areas, as 23.8 percent of households had a member making operations in a savings or current account. It was also about four times more than in rural areas, where 6.1 percent of households owned a bank account.
