Incidence of poverty in Tanzania 2017-2018, by size of household

The incidence of poverty increased in Tanzania as the number of household members grew. For households with seven or more people, the incidence was measured at 12.9 percent for food poverty and 38.7 percent for basic needs poverty. It was the highest poverty rate found in Tanzanian households for the period between 2017 and 2018. In one-person households, the rate was 0.1 percent for food poverty and 1.7 percent for basic needs poverty.
