As of July 2020, 21.6 percent of Australia's population had downloaded a government endorsed app made for COVID-19-related contact tracing. In comparison, only 0.4 percent of the Vietnamese population has adopted the use of such apps. Contact tracing apps were also popular in India - the country's 12.5 percent usage penetration of a government-approved app translated to approximately 128 million downloads.
