The value of new equipment lease contracts for companies in the Netherlands increased by around 5 percent between 2022 and 2023. Reaching a production volume of nearly 7.25 billion euros, leasing is one of the most common ways in the Netherlands to fund a corporation and invest in new assets. This familiarity with leasing is, to a certain extent, reflected in the Dutch market for business cars. Leasing a passenger car through company lease (in Dutch commonly referred to as een auto van de zaak krijgen, or "getting a car from your company") is a popular choice, as can be seen in the overall figure of leased business passenger cars.
