Nowadays, sustainability is increasingly influencing consumer behavior. Fair trade focuses mainly on the social and economic pillars of sustainable development. However, environmental sustainability seems to be becoming an important aspect of fair trade as well. In 2021, 88 percent of globally sourced fairly traded products sold on the French market were also organic, this figure has nonetheless been going down in recent years.
