According to the survey conducted between November 2019 and February 2020 among 54,580 Chinese college students, about 73.26 percent of respondents said they considered the moral qualities important for choosing their partners. Only one-fourth of the surveyed students considered financial status important for selecting their partners.
Most important qualities for choosing a partner among surveyed university students in China in 2020
Respondents were from 1,764 higher education institutions across 34 provinces in China, including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
68.07 percent respondents were from universities offering Bachelor’s degrees, and 31.93 percent from higher vocational education institutes.
59.67 percent at their first year, 22.59 percent at their second year, 11.11 percent at their third year and 6.54 percent at their fourth year.
34.2 percent were biologically male and 65.8 percent were biologically female.
