Venture capital divestments in the Netherlands 2023, by exit strategy
Selling a company to a third party was a more common exit strategy for venture capital firms in the Netherlands in 2023 than, for example, selling to another venture capital firm. Venture capital mostly refers to money into young companies that are not listed on the stock exchange. Start-up investments are the most known part of this, but this can also include (angel) seed investments or early stage ventures. Typically, Amsterdam is considered to have a smaller start-up scene than other European capital cities.
