Technological equipment available to home office and regular workers in Italy 2019

Employees who work from home have on average more technological equipment at their disposal, as they need more telecommunications tools to carry on their jobs. This is what emerged from a survey conducted in 2019 where both remote workers and regular office workers were interviewed. In particular, home office workers made a much greater use of collaboration and communication systems, smartphone, instant messaging tools, and headphones or ear-buds. When it comes to computers, three out of four regular office workers would work on a desktop PC compared to only 46 percent of remote workers. On the other hand, this latter group used laptops much more.
