According to data from the 2019 and 2020 censuses, there are more same-sex couples in the Paris area and in the city of Paris than in the rest of France. Indeed, while 2.6 percent of men and women in opposite-sex couples were living in Paris in 2020, and 14.6 percent in the Paris region, this was the case for 15.8 and 30 percent of men in same-sex couples, and 6.1 and 18.4 percent of women in same-sex couples, respectively.
