Number of smartphone SVoD subscriptions worldwide 2019-2025

In 2020, there were 110.3 million gross smartphone SVoD subscribers worldwide, up from 85.3 million in the previous year. By 2025, this figure is expected to increase to almost 170 million, as emerging markets without the option to use SVoD services via a fixed broadband connection instead subscribe via their mobile operator. These figures no dot include the number of smartphone subscriptions coming from mobile apps, but the same source predicted that SVoD subscriptions from mobile operators and apps combined could make up 40 percent of the total global subscriber count in 2025.
