Brazil: share of local and foreign Airbnb guests 2019-2020
According to Airbtics.com, domestic travelers accounted for 73.4 percent of Airbnb guests in Brazil in May 2020. In the previous month, when the COVID-19 pandemic was spreading rapidly in the country, the share of local Airbnb guests reached its highest since May 2019, with 83.4 percent. On the other hand, March 2020 was the month that registered the largest share of international Airbnb guests in Brazil, with 32.1 percent. In 2019, domestic tourism spending accounted for over 90 percent of total tourism spending in Brazil.
