During the 2021 calendar year, the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) of the Philippines issued over a thousand permits authorizing professional sports and games to hold competitions in the country. Among all the sports and games, basketball had the most number of permits amounting to a total of 381 permits. Other sports that had the most number of permits issued in that year were horseracing, eSports, and horseracing.
