Perceived benefits of remote working in Italy 2020

At the end of February 2020, the Italian government started to implement measures aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19. Among these measures, working from home became more common as many workplaces had to close. Overall, remote working had some relevant benefits, according to Italian interviewees. In a survey conducted in May 2020, 67 percent of respondents stated that the lower commuting expenses represented the main benefit of working from home. Reducing pollution, saving commuting time, and having flexible working hours were other perceived advantages.
