From January 2012 to March 2018, 36 live ocelots, a wild cat species native to the American continent, were seized in Central and South America. During the same period, 19 live jaguars and 15 pumas were found during seizures by authorities combating wildlife trafficking in the region. Brazil was the country with the most wild cats seizures reported in the period.
