First founded in 2011, the live streaming video platform, Twitch, is one of the most popular ways in which viewers watch their favorite gamers play a variety of online video games. The number of concurrent live channels on the platform has been growing significantly over the past years, reaching 105,000 worldwide in 2021 before declining for the first time to 92,500 thousand in 2022 before increasing again to 99,400 in mid-2024.
