Labor rights violations was the main reason to boycott products or companies among consumers in Brazil, according to a survey carried out in 2019. At the time, 43 percent of respondents said they had boycotted products or companies involved with such violations. Animal testing or mistreatment, in turn, was a motivation for 40 percent of respondents to stop purchasing from a company. Meanwhile less than three out of 10 Brazilians surveyed had boycotted products or companies due to their political positioning.
