Brazil: number of WhatsApp bots spreading fake news favorable to Bolsonaro 2019

In October 2019, according to data compiled by two hacker groups and calculated by the source, there were 1,355 active WhatsApp bots spreading fake and distorted news favorable to president Jair Messias Bolsonaro. That was almost 20 percent less than the 1,690 WhatsApp bots detected a year earlier, when Bolsonaro was elected. Bots are softwares used to carry out a massive spread of content on the internet.
