More than one third (35 percent) of communications professionals surveyed in Brazil in 2018 stated that fake news that had affected the companies they worked at regarded products and services. Around 35 percent of respondents said the fake news involved people working at the companies. The majority of communications professionals interviewed said those fake news came from social media.
