In September 2024, Kenya exported cut flowers worth roughly 6.3 billion Kenyan shillings (KSh), which is equivalent to some 48.6 million U.S. dollars. This presents an increase of almost 26.8 percent in comparison to the previous month. The export value of cut flowers has been fluctuating, peaking at approximately 14 billion KSh (108 million U.S. dollars) in January that year. The flower industry has a significant impact on Kenya’s earnings.
