Oregon's electoral votes in U.S. presidential elections 1860-2020

Oregon has taken part in 41 U.S. presidential elections, allocating all of its electoral votes to the nationwide winner on thirty occasions, giving a success rate of 73 percent. Historically, Oregon was a red state, voting for the Republican nominee in 25 of its first 32 presidential elections, however it has voted for the Democratic nominee in all elections since 1988; Oregon was considered a swing state between the 1980s and 2000s, although the Democratic nominee has won with at least a ten percent margin in the past three elections. In the 2020 election, Joe Biden won in Oregon with comfortable 16 percent margin.
As of the 2020 election, no U.S. president or major party candidate has come from Oregon. Throughout Oregon's history, its allocation of electoral votes has gradually grown, rising from three votes in the 1880s up to seven votes since the 1980s; it is expected that Oregon's allocation will increase to eight votes in the 2024 election.
