The demand for biodegradable plastics is expected to grow by an average of nine percent each year between 2018 and 2023, resulting in an anticipated global demand amounting to nearly 550,000 metric tons in 2023. While the market growth is promising, biodegradable polymers' market growth has been slower in regions that have not mandated their use than in those with mandates in place.
