Chess is a widely-known board game in which the ultimate goal is to capture the opponent's king piece. As with all games, players typically need elements of both skill and luck. However, some games are known for needing more skill than others. In a 2020 survey conducted by YouGov, 82 percent of respondents in the United States stated that chess was a game of skill rather than luck. In contrast, only four percent of respondents believed that chess was a game of luck.
