Around 81.2 percent of veterans with a substance use disorder reported no treatment in the past year, and 49.2 percent of those with any mental illness also reported no treatment. No Treatment for Illicit Drug or Alcohol Use Disorder is defined as not receiving treatment at any location, such as a hospital (inpatient), rehabilitation facility (inpatient
or outpatient), mental health center, emergency room, private doctor's office, self-help group, or prison/jail.
