Local consumption and short supply chains are two growing trends among consumers, especially for those trying to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. The share of French people considering local production as an important criterion in their purchasing process grew gradually from 54 percent in 2008 to a peak in 2019 with 76 percent. In 2020, the share of consumers attracted by regional products was 75 percent.
