Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the first months of 2020, one of the most anticipated moments was the start of mass immunization against the virus through the administration of vaccines. In December 2020, it was estimated that the number of doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine required to cover the entire population in Mexico exceeded a total of 250 million. It was estimated that immunizing citizens over 60 would require approximately 31 million doses, while vaccinating all health personnel would require approximately three million.
