Since February 2020, when the first cases of COVID-19 were registered in Colombia, most of internet traffic processed during peak hours in the country were destined to local content servers and/or CDN (Content Delivery Network) applications. According to the data, in May 2020, servers and/or CDN located in Colombia that were in or had direct interconnection to the telecommunications provider accounted for 58 percent of peak period online traffic.
