A 2020 survey revealed that a total of 47 percent of adults in the United States thought that most online companies can be trusted with basic personal information. Overall, 55 percent of adults aged 25 to 44 agreed with this statement. However, only 37 percent of respondents aged 18 to 25 years felt the same.
