The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and subsequent travel ban for most countries from March to May 2020 had a significant impact on the European hotel industry. Revenue per available room (RevPAR) fell by over 66.2 percent in March as the virus began to spread, dropping to 95 percent by April.
